 49er, 49erFX - European Championship - La Grande Motte FRA - Final results In light winds, the decisions were made in Grande Motte in the Medal Races yesterday. ----- In view of the large gaps after qualifying, there were no more changes on the podiums: Hernan Umpierre/Fernando Diz URU are the surprise winners in the 49ers, with silver going to James Peters/Finn Sterritt GBR. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI finished 4th in the Medal Race and thus maintained their 3rd place, while Isaac McHardie/William McKenzie NZL moved to within 2 points of the Swiss as winners of the Medal Race. ----- In the 49sFX, Isaura Maenshout/Anouk Goerts BEL won their first title. Sarah Steyaert/Charline Piccon FRA and Freya Black/Saskia Tidey GBR took the other medals. The last test before the Olympic Games offered all conditions, from fresh winds at the beginning to light wind races, which could well be the case in Marseille. ----- While the top teams were missing in the 49ersFX - the Olympic champions Grael/Kunze BRA or the world champions Bobeck/Netzler SWE and Van Aanholt/Duetz NED - most of the Olympic teams were present in the 49ers. ----- All rankings and the report.

 49er, 49erFX - European Championship - La Grande Motte FRA - Day 5 At the end of the qualifications for today's Medal Races, three more races were held yesterday in light winds. ----- In the 49ers, Hernan Umpierre/Fernando Diz URU were again best of the day and go into the Medal Race with a 12-point lead. James Peters/Finn Sterritt GBR in 2nd place are 7 points ahead of Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI. Ian Barrows/Hans Henken USA on 4th are 8 points behind 3rd place and still have a chance of winning a medal. Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI finished the European Championships in 42nd place, while Pablo Rüegge/Linus Abicht SUI have improved to rank 48. ---- In the 49ersFX, Isaura Maenhout/Anouk Goerts BEL should not be displaced from the top spot in the Medal Race. Their lead over Sarah Steyaert/Charline Picon FRA is 15 points. Lurking 4 points behind the French are Frey Black/Saskia Tidey GBR. ----- All rankings and the report.  49er Light winds dominated day 4 of the 49er European Championships in Grande Motte. ----- Hernan Umpierre/Fernando Diz URU moved to the top with two race wins. James Peters/Finn Sterritt GBR are tied in second place. The big-breeze specialists could not finish in the top ten in 4 races yesterday. Isaac McHardie/William McKenzie NZL in 3rd place remain in the title race (6 points behind) as well as Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI 7 points behind.  49er, 49erFX - European Championship - La Grande Motte FRA - Day 3 After the two windy starting days, there were light winds for the first time yesterday at the end of the qualifications, and there was a change of leader in both classes: James Peters/Finn Sterritt GBR moved back into the lead in the English duel of the 49ers, with James Grummett/Rho Hawes GBR following 2 points behind. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno de Planta SUI have moved up to third place, 16 points behind. In 38th place, Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI clearly miss out on the gold fleet of the top 25 - the ranking 49er. New at the top of the 49erFX now Isaura Maenhout/Anouk Geurts BEL, followed 3 points behind by Aleksandra Melzacka/Sandra Jankowiak POL.  49er, 49erFX - European Championship - La Grande Motte FRA - Day 2 Three races were held in fresh, shifty winds on day 2 of the European Championships in the South of France. ----- The English continue to dominate in the 49ers: James Grummett/Rhos Hawes GBR are now on top - these newcomers have only been sailing together for 6 months and already finished 4th at the World Championships in April! - However, James Peters/Fynn Sterritt GBR, already selected for the British Olympic team, are tied in second place. Isaac McHardie/William McKenzie NZL follow in 3rd place, 11 points behind. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI have moved up to 5th place with a strong day (6/2/4). The qualifications for Gold and Silverfleet will be finalized today. Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI in 32nd place still have 25 points to make up for the Goldfleet. Pablo Rüegge/Linus Abicht SUI are 55th of the 76 teams - the 49ers rankings. ----- The 49ers could only sail one race with Jana Germani/Giorgia Bertuzzi ITA as winners. They were nevertheless displaced on rank one by Aleksandra Melzacka/Sandra Jankowiak POL, who are equal on points ... thanks to the discard that has now come into effect.  49er, 49erFX - European Championship - La Grande Motte FRA - Day 1 Moderate but inconsistent winds characterized the starting day of the 49ers European Championship in the south of France. Both fleets were able to complete three races each. ----- James Peters/Fynn Sterritt GBR lead the 49ers classification with places 1/7/1, followed 2 points behind by James Grummett/Rhos Hawes GBR. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI got better and better during the day with places 10/8/3 and are 8th. For the time being Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI are behind (58th), they had to accept an early start - the results 49er. ----- The fleet of the 49ersFX is very balanced: Jana Germani/Giorgia Bertuzzi ITA lead the classification with the daily ranks 5/5/5, Ronja Grönblom/Veera Hokka FIN follow 4 points behind, Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA are 3rd. - the results 49ersFX. ----- The report and all rankings.
