Community Sailing Seattle's Center for Wooden Boats recognized by US Sailing
The Center for Wooden Boats (CWB), the hands-on maritime museum and sailing activity center on South Lake Union won the distinction of “outstanding year round program” for 2009 by the US Sailing’s Community Sailing Council. Aside from boat building workshops and speakers events, CWB also offers free Sunday sails, youth and adult sailing lessons and field trips for children. More than 100,000 youth and adults participate in CWB programs each year. If anyone is concerned about saving sailing, check out CWB as an inspiration or to talk to director Dick Wagner.
