With three races held in light and shifting winds, the RS:X European Windsurfing Championship kicked off yesterday in Portugal. This is the first benchmark for the Olympic windsurfers since the world championships in Australia in February. ----- Yoav Cohen ISR took the lead in the men's event, only one point ahead of Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI in 2nd. Matteo Camboni ITA follows in third place. World Champion Kiran Badloe NED had a rather moderate start in 13th place. ----- Ignacio Berenguer MEX is 31st, Pedro Pascual Suitt USA 37th. ----- On the women's side, the favourites have already taken the lead: Olympic champion Charline Picon FRA leads with 3 points ahead of Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL. Lilian De Geus NED follows in 3rd place. ----- Demita Vega MEX is 22nd. ----- All rankings, the report and the video of the day.
