In moderate winds, the Round 2 of the Portugal Grand Prix started yesterday in Vilamoura. The 470s sailed 2 races each, the windsurfers completed 3 heats. ----- First leaders in the 470 Men are Balasz Gyapjas/Zsombor Gyapjas HUN, with Papoutsoglou/Orfanos GRE and Winkel/Cipra GER 5 points behind in 2nd and 3rd. Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA (Trevor Moore Foundation) follow on 10th. Shawn Harvey/Augie Dale USA (Oyster Bay 470 Team) are 24th among the 25 teams in their first international event. ----- In the 470 women, Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA took the lead, followed 2 points behind by Louise Rinser/Anastasya Winkel GER. Carmen and Emma Cowles USA (Larchmont YC), interim rank 6, started the event with a spectacular 2nd race rank, they could however not confirm in the 2nd heat. Atlantic and Nora Brugman USA (Shelter Island YC) are in 14th place among 22 teams racing. Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weiss USA (St. Francis YC/New York YC) did not compete. ----- In the 470 mixed, Nitai Hasson/Saar Tamir ISR are first ahead of Louisa Nordstrom/Trevor Bornarth USA (Oyster Bay 470 Team) one point back. ----- In the RS:X male windsurfers, Piotr Myszka POL took the lead with 3 race wins, followed 2 points behind by Mattia Camboni ITA. Pedro Pascual Suitt USA is 12th among 23 starters. ----- Laerke Buhl-Jansen DEN leads the RS:X women's ranking ahead of Giorgia Speciale ITA and Katy Spychakov ISR tied on points. ----- All rankings and the event Facebook page with the pictures and the video of the day.
