 IRC, Melges IC37  New York YC Annual Regatta, Melges IC37 Nationals  Day 2, close racing on top of most classes before last races today
Going into the final day of racing, the podium of the Melges IC37 National Championship is still up for grabs with only a five-point separation between the second and fifth place boats. Dominating leader after seven races is 'Pacific Yankee' of Drew Freides/Bill Ruh, Los Angeles, CA, 16 points ahead of 'Waka Jawaka' of Michael Goldfarb/Laura Grondin, Seattle, WA, closely followed by 'Blazer II' of Christopher Culver, Newport, RI. ----- After two races completed, the top-ranked boats in the ORC Division are in ORC1 'Fox', the Botin 52 of Victor Wild, San Diego, CA, tied with 'Vesper', the TP52 of David Team, Newport Beach, CA., USA, in ORC2 a tied trio with 'Pterodactyl', the R/P 45 of Scott Weisman, White Plains, NY, 'Impetuous', the Swan 42 of Paul Zabetakis, Jamestown, RI, and 'Rigadoon', the Dunning 44 of Jim Grundy, Horsham, PA, and in ORC3 'Leading Edge', the J 109 of William Sutton, Houston, TX, two points ahead of 'Maxine', the J 44 of William Ketcham, Greenwich, CT. ----- 80 boats, split into 9 ORC, PHRF, and one-design classes, are racing North America's oldest annual regatta on October 2 to 4, in this year's 166th edition including Melges IC37 National Championships.
