 IRC, Melges IC37  New York YC Annual Regatta, Melges IC37 Nationals  Final Results
After 9 races, 'Pacific Yankee' co-owned by Bill Ruh and Drew Freides, Los Angeles, CA, finished the 2020 Melges IC37 Nationals with a resounding 13-point lead. 'Midnight Blue' of Alexis Michas, New York, NY, winning the two races of the day, jumped on rank 2, tied with 'Blazer II' of Christopher Culver, Newport, RI. 'Waka Jawaka' of Michael Goldfarb/Laura Grondin, Seattle, WA, dropped out of the podium, finishing 2 points behind 'Blazer II'. ----- After another two races in the ORC Divisions, 'Fox', the Botin 52 of Victor Wild, San Diego, CA, and 'Vesper', the TP52 of David Team, Newport Beach, CA., USA, remained tied in the ORC1 rankings, and winning the last race, the tie was broken in favor of 'Fox'. In the ORC2 classifications, 'Impetuous', the Swan 42 of Paul Zabetakis, Jamestown, RI, had the upper hand one point ahead of the tied 'Rigadoon', the Dunning 44 of Jim Grundy, Horsham, PA, and 'Pterodactyl', the R/P 45 of Scott Weisman, White Plains, NY, USA. In the ORC3, 'Leading Edge', the J 109 of William Sutton, Houston, TX, defended the first place two points against 'Maxine', the J 44 of William Ketcham, Greenwich, CT, on 2nd, tied with 'Vamp', the J 44 of Kenneth Luczynski, Kings Point, NY, USA on 3rd. ----- 80 boats, split into 9 ORC, PHRF, and one-design classes, were competing in North America's oldest annual regatta from October 2 to 4.----- The results, and the event website.
