IMOCA Open 60 - Transat Jacques Vabre - Day 10

Friday, November 17, 2023
The Transat should also decide the IMOCA Open 60 on Sunday. The leading fleet in the South has stretched out a little. Thomas Ruyant/Morgan Lagravière FRA now lead Yoann Richhomme/Yann Eliès FRA by 21 miles. Sam Goodchild GBR/Antoine Koch FRA are already 70 miles behind in 3rd place. The moderate trade winds of around 20 knots are likely to continue until the finish in Martinique. Justine Mettraux SUI/Julien Villion FRA have finally found the winds they were looking for in the North and will now also be heading straight to the finish at high speeds. It remains to be seen how much of their 195-mile deficit they can make up. Boris Herrmann GER/Will Harris GBR are ranked directly ahead of them in 6th place with a lead of just 3 miles. 4th place (Samantha Davis/Jack Boutell GBR) and 5th place (Jeremy Beyou/Franck Cammas FRA) with a margin of around 60 miles also seem to be within reach. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
