 Mini 650 - Mini-Transat - Leg 1 - Las Palmas ESP - Day 9, Trehin FRA Protos and Beccaria ITA Series Minis winners  Against all odds, the winner of the Mini Transat leg one in Las Palmas/Canary Islands ESP this morning 4.30 hrs UTC was Axel Trehin FRA on his Protos overtaking the previous clear leader François Jambou FRA in the very last moment and crossing the finish line with a 6 minute margin. On rank 3 followed Tanguy Bouroullec FRA 30 min behind. Marie Gendron FRA will arrive shortly as 4th. ----- Already in Las Palmas are meanwhile also the first Series Minis with Ambrogio Beccaria ITA as winner and Félix De Navacelle FRA and Mathieu Vincent FRA on the ranks 2 and 3. ----- The Race-Tracker and the news.

 Mini 650 - Mini-Transat - Leg 1 - Day 6, slow down, no changes on top François Jambou FRA was still leading in the Protos this morning UTC with a 35nm advantage on Axel Tréhin FRA. No change on top of the Series Minis either with Ambrogio Beccaria ITA as first 14nm ahead of Félix De Navacelle FRA. 86 participants are still in the race. ----- The fast ride yesterday lasted only till the morning when the breeze started to vanish.  Mini 650 - Mini-Transat - Leg 1 - Day 4, leader change in the fast ride to the Canaries François Jambou FRA has taken the lead in the Protos ahead of Axel Tréhin FRA 6nm behind. In the Series Minis, the dominating leader Ambrogio Beccaria ITA dropped on rank 8 during the past night. Guillaume L'Hostis FRA followed by Julien Letissier FRA are new on top. As only ones bypassing the cargo ship exclusion zone westward, they took advantage of the fresher winds. ----- In freshening rear winds, the fleet passed Cape Finisterre yesterday.  Mini 650 - Mini-Transat - Leg 1 - Day 3, fleet still closely together, no major position changes First this morning UTC was still Axel Tréhin FRA in the Protos, while Ambrogio Beccaria ITA kept the lead in the Series-Minis. ----- Yesterday, the wind turned West forcing the fleet on an upwind course without major influence on the positions. 87-Solo-Skippers started yesterday to leg one of the Mini-Transat direction Las Palmas/Canary Islands ESP with two different strategies. One group opted for a Northern course based on favorable wind forecasts, a minority is preferring the direct way to Cap Finisterre at the most Northwestern point of Spain. ----- The fleet progressing well in a 20kn breeze was still closely together this morning UTC. ----- Leader in the Protos was Vincent Lancien FRA 0,1nm ahead of Franck Colin FRA. ----- In the Series Minis, most on a direct route, Louis-Xavier Lamiraud FRA is on position one half-a-mile in front of Christophe Noguet FRA. ----- The race tracker, the daily news and the video.

 Mini 650 - Mini-Transat - La Rochelle FRA - Leg 1 - Start today 09.30h UTC The 87 solo skippers of the Mini-Transat have been forced to wait during two weeks for a favorable weather window avoiding the heavy storm fronts passing over the Bay of Biscay. Today at 09.30 UTC, the start of leg one direction Canaries will finally be given. Light to moderate winds have been announced for the coming two days, when another depression with northerly winds will reach the fleet providing for a fast downwind race. ----- The preview. ----- As usual, the race can be followed over GPS tracking.

 Mini 650 - Mini-Transat - La Rochelle FRA - Start postponed once more The persisting storms over the Bay of Biscay inhibited the start to the Mini-Transat yesterday again. Until Tuesday, winds above 40kn have been forecast. Comes in addition, that the hurricane 'Lorenzo' devastating the Acores currently, is expected for Saturday. It remains to be seen, when a weather window will allow the start to this traditional two-leg transatlantic race for the 6.50 metre mini yachts. ----- The news.
